Autonomous Geo-referencing
Autonomous geo-referencing is an optional system component for some of Frontier Automation’s products. It utilises high accuracy GPS position and high performance Inertial Navigation System (INS) hard- and software suited for the automation application case in hand to integrate industrial or mining machine locations and orientations within the global coordinate system of the client site. Our geo-referencing systems can interface with client Real Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS base stations.
Collision Avoidance
Frequently industrial and mining equipment or machinery is operated within proximity of other machines, infrastructure, vehicles, personnel, or natural barriers or obstructions. This creates a risk of collision and an onus on operators for stringent safety procedures that may adversely affect efficiency and productivity. Automated anti-collision systems can safely maintain active protection to a degree of reliability that is not achievable through conventional safeguards. Frontier Automation can provide machine vision based collision avoidance modules for any of its core products and develop stand-alone systems for new applications based on client specifications.
Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Frontier Automation has already implemented machine learning code in complex applications where it is difficult or sub-optimal to predetermine a specific automation algorithm. Machine learning is particularly effective in computer or machine vision which underpins all of our company’s automation systems. Our data analytics models allow industrial machines to develop artificial intelligence that can reveal hidden insights by learning from data trends to ultimately provide previously untapped efficiencies and performance improvements for our clients. Frontier Automation’s machine learning code is at the cutting edge of commercially available industrial automation and can be offered as an optional module for ambitious projects.

Frontier Automation provides electrical and mechanical engineering services to customise our solutions to the client’s site specific requirements. We liaise with operational staff to develop solutions from concept, all the way through to implementation and commissioning.
